There are so many things to do and see throughout the Keys, there really is something for everyone. If you love the water, are passionate about the arts, care for animals or if fauna and flora are your thing then you’re in luck. This is the place for you. I have been fortunate enough to have done a little traveling and have discovered a love for art in public places. Whether it’s commissioned or just independently shared, it can tell one side of a community’s story along with sharing the artistic skills of the artist.
Key West has no shortage of artists, known and undiscovered. We also have our share of public art, although you have to look around to find a lot of it. It’s always exciting to find something I haven’t seen before. I don’t know who the artists are, but I’m glad they do it. I often look specifically for art in unusual places and when I find it it’s like finding a treasure.
These photos share only a small part of what makes Key West special to me. Each of us here feels
deeply about something which makes a connection to us. Street art is just one of many things that make Key West unique, weird and the place I happily call home. I hope you find the beauty in unexpected places. See you soon.
